PPAP Approval and Series Production Across Multiple Vehicle Platforms
To meet the evolving needs of new energy vehicle smart cabins and HVAC systems, MAXMAC focuses on integrated automotive air quality sensing solutions. Its P09/P15/S21 multi-in-one sensor platform has now completed PPAP approval with multiple leading domestic OEMs and entered series production in several new energy vehicle models, spanning flagship MPVs, family SUVs and premium sedans.
The sensors can be supplied as standalone modules to automotive OEMs and HVAC Tier 1 suppliers, or serve as the core sensing units in complete cabin air subsystems. Connecting sensing hardware with system controls reduces the development effort required for OEMs to coordinate multiple suppliers and carry out joint commissioning.
Reliable Data for Healthy Cabin Functions
Within OEM healthy cabin solutions, MAXMAC’s production-ready multi-in-one air sensors provide reliable data for HVAC recirculation and fresh-air control, in-vehicle air quality visualization, filter life assessment, and rest or camping modes.
The CO₂ sensing unit addresses carbon dioxide buildup and stuffiness during fully occupied long-distance journeys, in-car midday breaks and extended parking. It helps resolve the industry’s “recirculation paradox”: while the system keeps external exhaust pollution out, it continuously monitors cabin CO₂ levels to dynamically balance pollution exclusion, fresh-air replenishment, vehicle energy consumption and occupant comfort. This helps avoid drowsiness and dizziness associated with prolonged recirculation without adequate ventilation.
The AQS sensing unit detects external exhaust gases and odor pollution, responding rapidly in traffic congestion and tunnels and coordinating with the HVAC system to switch between recirculation and fresh-air intake. Dual-channel particulate matter sensing compares conditions inside and outside the vehicle to support dynamic HVAC air management strategies. Interior and exterior PM2.5 readings are also sent to the vehicle’s HMI, allowing occupants to see changes in cabin air quality.
An Integrated Automotive Sensing Platform
At the hardware level, the P09/P15/S21 platform brings together MAXMAC’s in-house laser particulate matter detection, NDIR infrared CO₂ sensing, metal-oxide (MOX) AQS exhaust-gas sensing, and temperature and humidity measurement. The product platform has completed AEC-Q100 automotive component validation and is supported by an IATF 16949-certified quality management system.
A fully automated calibration line ensures data consistency across wide temperature ranges and vibration conditions. Standard LIN bus output supports integration with HVAC controllers and cabin domain controllers.
