Fragrance Delivered Through Existing Airflow
A whole-home HVAC scent system uses moving air to carry fragrance into the spaces served by the ventilation or air-conditioning system. At MAXMAC, we integrate fragrance delivery into the air path through two product formats: the A29 fresh-air outlet diffuser and the A32 embedded dual-scent module. Both keep fragrance equipment off furniture and connect to a compatible control system. Whole-home scenting comes from placing the modules where airflow can reach the intended spaces. It does not mean that a single diffuser will provide identical fragrance intensity in every room.
A29: Fragrance at the Fresh-Air Terminal
The A29 introduces fragrance at the fresh-air terminal. It combines a ceiling-mounted air outlet with a replaceable fragrance cartridge, allowing incoming ventilation air and fragrance delivery to share one installation point. Designed for DN75–100 fresh-air ducts, the unit fits into a 130 mm ceiling opening. Its outlet opens or closes by rotating the front panel, while three fan speeds provide adjustment of fragrance delivery. For ventilation manufacturers, this integrated format brings the air terminal and scent function together without adding a separate appliance inside the room.
A32: Concealed Scenting for Ducted HVAC
The A32 takes a concealed approach for ducted air conditioning. Installed above the ceiling alongside the indoor unit, its inlet connects to the return-air side and its outlet connects to the supply-air side. The module introduces fragrance into the conditioned airflow, which carries it toward the connected outlets. This arrangement lets the visible room design remain focused on the existing HVAC grilles. The A32 holds two fragrance cartridges, allowing users to switch between the installed scents from a compatible control screen without physically exchanging cartridges each time.
One Interface for Home Scent Control
Control connects the fragrance module to the wider home comfort system. Both A29 and A32 use RS-485 communication and operate on 12–24 VDC. Their manuals show connection to a MAXMAC A63 controller, providing a documented starting point for integration. With a compatible system configuration, fragrance settings can sit alongside air-conditioning and ventilation controls on one wall-mounted interface. Scheduled operation and mobile access are available through the appropriate controller and gateway configuration. Users can manage when scenting runs and choose from three delivery levels without visiting each installed module.
Adjustable Scent Intensity and Timed Operation
Scent intensity can be adjusted to suit how a room is used. Both A29 and A32 offer low, medium and high fan settings to vary fragrance delivery. A low setting can provide a subtle background scent during an evening at home, while a higher setting may suit a livelier gathering in the living room. Through a compatible MAXMAC controller, users can schedule scenting to start before they return home and set it to stop automatically after a chosen duration. Intermittent operation adds pauses between scenting periods; for example, the illustrated interface allows four minutes of operation followed by a four-minute pause. These settings let users fit fragrance delivery around their daily routine and preferred intensity.
Accessible Cartridges and Clear Status
Routine maintenance centers on the fragrance cartridge. The A29 uses a magnetic decorative cover that provides access to its replaceable cartridge. Both A29 and A32 fragrance cartridges contain identification chips, enabling the connected screen to show the installed scent and its estimated remaining level. This gives users a clearer indication of what is installed and when replacement may be needed. A service opening should remain accessible for a concealed installation, allowing cartridge changes without dismantling the main air-conditioning unit. The module’s rated power consumption is no more than 3 W for the A29 and 2.5 W for the A32; these figures exclude the connected HVAC equipment and controls.
From Integration to Production
MAXMAC’s advantage is the ability to develop fragrance delivery around the equipment carrying the air. The A29 gives fresh-air manufacturers an integrated terminal, while the A32 provides a concealed module for ducted HVAC products. Our OEM/ODM home scent systems can adapt the installation structure and control interface to the host equipment. Dedicated fragrance test chambers, including a 30 m³ chamber for residential applications, support evaluation of scent intensity and distribution before production. In-house electronics development and MES-based manufacturing traceability help carry the evaluated design into repeatable production, giving customers a path from an installation concept to a manufactured home scent system.
