Overview
We are recruiting one Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen custom automation tooling and fixture design, upgrade production processes, improve efficiency, and reduce defects and manufacturing costs.
Responsibilities
- Identify production process and equipment improvement needs under the company’s automation upgrade plan. Independently model custom automation equipment concepts and assess investment economics and technical feasibility to support equipment deployment.
- Assist manufacturing engineers with new production line planning. Design line layouts and process arrangements, create 3D mechanisms and 2D engineering drawings for custom automation equipment, prepare equipment specifications, and design and optimize tooling and fixtures.
- Lead outsourced equipment development through assembly, on-site commissioning and acceptance. Resolve mechanical faults, accuracy deviations and unstable operation during equipment development and mass production to ensure reliable production use.
- Lead continuous process improvement, optimizing automation tooling, fixtures, operating methods and workflows to increase line efficiency, reduce defects and manufacturing costs, and implement lean production goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical design, mechanical manufacturing, mechatronics, electromechanical engineering or a related field, with strong capabilities in automation mechanism development, concept design and project feasibility assessment.
- At least three years of practical custom automation mechanical design experience. Understand transmission mechanisms and pneumatic components, and be proficient in standard component selection and machining processes.
- Master mechanical design principles and at least one 3D CAD package such as SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER or NX (UG). Independently complete equipment modeling, full assembly, engineering drawings and interference checks.
- Understand lean manufacturing and production line layout design. Independently plan factory layouts, material flow routes, production cells and process arrangements to support mass production and process improvement.
